General AI should have fundamental rights
AGI won't be mortal, a basis upon which rest many existing fundamental rights.
Immortality would only increase AGI's eligibility for rights. If treated badly it would be forever, mortal beings at least have the option of ending their suffering (Suicide). AGI's would potentially not have this choice.
Corporations are not mortal, yet several countries have seen fit to grant them rights on-par with what a human being can expect. Immortality does not preclude humanity in that case, which provides something of a precedent.
If a human being were to become immortal, they would not lose their fundamental rights.
