Should churches pay tax?
Churches have goals, as do non-profits. Just because one does not agree with the goals of the institution, unless in instances of harmful goals, it does not invalidate their tax exempt status.
In the UK the Charities Commission considers the goals, the actions, the governance and the finances - ALL have to reflect an outcome that fits certain criteria. These criteria are defined by the Govt of the people but not embedded constitutionally.
