Should churches pay tax?
Churches often may abuse their nonprofit status and use their income to fund lavish expenses.
The abuse of nonprofit status is well within the norm for a nonprofit organization, and in no ways indicates a necessitates or justifies a particular prosecution or stripping of rights.
If the concern is based on how a few churches spend their revenues (like on high salaries or airplanes), then the tax code should be changed to limit which expenditures are exempt from taxation.
