Is forgiving someone who doesn't regret beneficial for you?
Forgiveness is not giving a free pass to 'run wild' in the future, but about understanding what happened and things that can't be changed, thus moving on.
Accepting the past takes the focus off of it and allows you to live your life more fully in the present.
It is a good reminder that in many situations we have no control over people's behaviour towards us, which makes us less worried and more at peace in the present.
Forgive doesn't mean to forget. It means only to abstain yourself from executing a grudge.
Acceptance does not imply forgiveness. One can understand things, move on, without forgiving.
