The European Union is the greatest peace accomplishment in political history.
European Union permitted the longest period of time with peace for modern Europe.
The inner values of European Union are defined in the
CHARTER OF FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS
: Dignity, Freedoms, Equality, etc.
As for today, we don't know other political structures that permits peace between states, as good as the EU does with such cultural diversity and violent history between those states.

The economic & political construction of the EU still allows inequalities and social struggles inside its borders, which leads to non-physical violence
