Should animal testing be banned?
Humans evolved to be superior to other animals, therefore from the position of power humans can, and should, perform tests on animals, if it benefits mankind.
There is no such thing as 'superior' or 'inferior' in evolution.
Might does not make right.
If assumed superiority is taken as basis for the right to abuse, horrible things start to happen, by definition. This is applicable on all structural levels, from households (domestic violence) through states (autocracies) and races (colonization and slavery) to species (your example).
Modern physiology and the
Theory of Evolution
shows there is an evolutionary continuum between animals and humans. The only difference between humans and animals is a higher intelligence, this does not justify that humans are treated better.
Such superior self-interested behaviour has been coined as “
” by animal rights advocates.
