Cultural appropriation is wrong
People should be educated in the ways of other cultures in order to know what is considered disrespectful.
Making an effort to understand the meaning of a cultural practice before adopting it is a gesture of respect to members of that culture.
It is highly unlikely that any society can learn all of the cultural markers of every other culture on the planet, much less learn which cultural markers (out of potentially thousands) must be treated with more sensitivity than others.
This is an unreasonable expectation, just as it would be unreasonable for American (U.S.) citizens to expect that every other society be fluent in American (U.S.) culture before interacting with this culture.
