Should Local Governments have Partisan Elections?
Local Governments Should Have Non-Partisan Elections
This would allow local governments to govern based off what is best for their specific community.
Citizens would get to know their local leaders
National politics would become less relevant to local policy
More citizens would be likely to run for office due to not having to identify with a national party
Funding from political parties would not influence local elections
Non-partisan elections absent campaign finance reform would merely ensure that the most well known i.e. wealthy candidates are able to afford to run for office.
Most people identify with a political parties and this could cause people to vote for local candidates without knowing anything about them
The party system simplifies the electoral process for voters
Lottery should be an integral component of democratic political systems
Should the US government guarantee every citizen a job?
Should Ontario have only one public, secular school system?
