Should Obligatory Community/Military Service Be Introduced?
Obligatory military service or volunteer work is a more fair and equal way to distribute the responsibilities of society across all of its members - more so even than taxes.
Everyone can offer up a (roughly) equal amount of time and effort, and so everyone can contribute (roughly) equal amounts through military service. By contrast, the ability of people to contribute to society through mechanisms like taxation is unequal across different income groups.
Whether conscription or taxes are more fair depends on the specific details of each policy. It's impossible to justify the fairness without more detail.
Redistribution through taxation is more fair in principle because through taxation individuals contribute to society in proportion to the advantages they have within it. Conversely, giving up a year of employment/training may be especially costly for the less advantaged members of society.
