Cultural appropriation is wrong
The adoption of a part of a culture has been shown to lead to further interests in said culture, which has been shown to dispel harmful stereotypes that were previously held.
If only a specific race or religion is allowed to dress or behave in a certain way it only strengthens stereotypes.
Trivialization or irreverence often creates stereotypes instead of dispelling them. Typically if a culture is accurately adopted or the significance is respected, it isn't described as cultural appropriation.
