Should straight actors play gay roles?
The character is more believable if the actor has a personal connection to the role because of their sexuality.
Gay actors can understand everyday situations a role would encounter. This enables them to be more believeable.
If the actor shares their sexuality with the role, the story becomes more believable.
If an actor is talented, then the character should be equally believable regardless of whether or not the actor has anything in common with their character they're playing.
