Would Abolishing Privacy Be Beneficial?
The fear of public shaming would prevent people from engaging in immoral or selfish behaviour.
Someone who is only moral because they would be publicly shamed otherwise is not a moral person.
That is overt generalization. Fear of shaming would prevent people from displaying any non-conformist behavior. That may be immoral behavior in some cases, or just behavior exhibited by a few people and unaccepted by the majority in other cases.
Morality is, on all observable and logically rigorous accounts, constructed. Depending on what was said to be immoral, a society could publicly shame actions you would personally deem right and good. You assume that the society in question would follow your values specifically.
At a certain point, people would be desensitized to the possibility of being publicly shamed.
The fear of public shaming would also stop people being true to themselves in ways that aren't necessarily harmful to other people at all, eg. being LGBTQ.
