Facebook's collection of user data is unethical
User data should be owned by users and not on a proprietary format by a private company.
The fact that FB has allowed 50 million user profiles to be scraped by Cambridge Analytica demonstrates that they have a cavelier attitude towards personal data.
There is no good technology to give a user ownership of their own data, without potentially allowing them to lock themselves out of their digital identity for good, or allowing someone else to take it over maliciously.
